    In the fall of 2024, Br. Dennis began his tenure as the 17th Rector of Alumni Hall. He is a member of the Congregation of Christian Brothers, professing his first vows in 1994 and his final vows in the year 2000. Br. Dennis loves taking long walks, watching movies, and visiting art and history museums with friends. He has served in the field of Catholic education for over 30 years in places as diverse as New York City, Boston, Tampa (FL), Jackson (MS), and Lima (Peru). Br. Dennis graduated from Iona College summa cum laude with a B.A. in Religious Studies and went on to earn a masters degree in Religious Education from Boston College and a Ph.D. in Religious Education from Fordham University. He has spent his career ministering to youth and young adults, and he is honored and thrilled to serve as the Rector of Alumni Hall, the greatest hall on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. You can almost always find him around the hall greeting the Dawgs or sitting in the kennel, chatting with residents, and serving his famous lemonade.

    A former Alumni Dawg and now one of Alumni Hall's priests in-residence, Fr. Dan presides at Dawg mass and daily mass in Alumni Hall. Fr. Dan is Vice President and Associate Provost for undergraduate education, a Fellow and Trustee, and a Professor of Theology and Global Affairs at the University of Notre Dame. He was recently appointed by Pope Leo XIV to the Vatican Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development. In his spare time he enjoys woodworking and he loves nature, espeically anything to do with bears!

    Fr. Gerry Olinger, C.S.C., ministers as one of the in-residence priests in Alumni Hall. When not with his fellow Dawgs, he serves as Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of Notre Dame. Father Gerry's door is often open, and he is always willing to help a Dawg in need. Every Sunday before Dawgmass, Father Gerry whips up the best homemade cookies with his secret ingrediant (cake mix). Make sure to stop by for sweet treats and comradery with your fellow Dawgs.

Assistant Rectors

    Jacob is a second-year Ph.D. student in Computer Science and Engineering. This is his seventh consecutive year at Notre Dame, where he earned his undergraduate degree in 2024 and his master’s degree in 2025. He enjoys mentoring students both inside and outside the classroom. Originally from Parker, Colorado, Jacob is a loyal supporter of Denver’s professional sports teams, particularly the Broncos. He is excited to return as an AR and continue building community in Alumni. Outside of academics, you’ll usually find him reading fantasy novels, stopping to chat with Dawgs in the hallways, or playing board games such as Catan. He served as president of Notre Dame’s Board Game Club during his senior year.

    Michael enjoyed his first 4 years in Alumni Hall so much, he decided to stay for 2 more! Born and raised in San Diego, CA, Michael enjoys sports, videogames, and spending time with his fellow Dawgs. Michael graduated in 2025 with degrees in Applied & Computational Math & Statistics (ACMS) and Economics and is now enrolled in the Data Science Master’s program at ND. Michael set the single-season record for intramural games played, founded our Wiffleball League, and participated in many data/statistics clubs and projects on campus. If you ever walk by Michael’s room, it’s likely the door will be open and the Padres game will be on, so feel free to stop by and enjoy the AC!

     What has Athens to do with Alumni Hall? A 2:00 AM conversation with 1 Main’s very own “Dorm Philosopher” might just answer that question. Originally from Long Island’s south shore, Anthony traded sandy beaches and New York pizza for the world’s greatest community at the Center of the Universe. Studying Philosophy and Theology, Anthony is the go-to man for questions ranging from class registration to the meaning of life. When not deep in thought, you may also find him watching his beloved New York Rangers, throwing a baseball on South Quad, or poorly singing indie rock out loud. More than anything, Anthony loves connecting with awesome dawgs. His door in room 141 will always be open, and he can’t wait to meet you!

    Hometown: Tremont, IL

    Hailing from the great, small town of Tremont, Illinois, JT can usually be found somewhere around Alumni Hall talking sports, throwing a ball in the hallway or trying to convince himself that Chicago sports will eventually turn things around. A Business Analytics and Psychology major in the Business Honors Program, JT is known around the hall for his energetic personality, open door, and ability to bounce back and forth between conversations as he attempts to be productive. Alongside Aidan Morrison, he served as Co-President of Alumni Hall last year and he’s excited to continue building community as an RA. JT enjoys playing pick-up basketball and spending time on a boat. Make sure to stop by room 163 if you need someone to talk to or just want to see a friendly face.

    Dwelling at the end of the flag-draped walls of 2America is Freddy. Raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Freddy came to Notre Dame to study accounting but picked up minors in theology and art history along the way. A stop to Room 213 and you'll find Freddy hunched over a presidential biography or screaming through Nashville SC's games on TV. Freddy loves playing chess, running, rock climbing, and helping younger dawgs with discernment. He can't wait to hear your story!

    Nick Swiderski is originally from Brookfield, Wisconsin but has found a second home in Alumni Hall. He majors in philosophy and psychology and plans on attending law school upon graduation. Whether you need help uncovering life's greatest mysteries or you're just bored and looking for someone to talk to, he's your man. When he's not preparing his section for glory in battle with the other sections he can be found reading, working out, or playing video games. He's looking forward to getting to meet all of Alumni Hall's newest members and can't wait to hear your story!

    My name is Anthony Bellone, and I am from Long Island, NY. I am majoring Finance with minors in Irish Studies and the Business Honors Program. On campus, I am involved with Alumni Hall government (former VP), club volleyball, SIBC, and the Notre Dame Catechist Academy. I am looking forward to a great year in 3Challey/Main and don’t be afraid to reach out. Go dawgs.

    Hometown: Arlington, VA

    Aidan Morrison is a senior from Arlington, Virginia, majoring in Political Science with minors in Energy Studies and Portuguese & Brazilian Studies. After serving as co-president of Alumni Hall last year, he’s excited to serve in the best section of the hall as an RA in 3 Talley/SA. On campus, Aidan also works at one of Notre Dame’s institutes and does research for a professor studying national politics. Aidan likes to run, work out, eat food, and wander the halls of the dorm. He’s looking forward to getting to know everyone and is excited to kick off the year.
